MOONRCKT.JPG This is my contribution to the Raytrace competition, August 1995. Inspired upon the famous cartoon of Tin-Tin, Rocket to the moon, I created a moon landscape with a moon rocket and the earth on the background. I used an adapted version of gforge (Original version of gforge By John Beale) to create a plasma fractal heightfield with craters. The earth in the background is a satellite gif picture I found somewhere on the net. The whole scene was created using Moray 1.54. The resulting POV file was slightly edited to add the stars in the background. Raytracing of the scene took 9 minutes and 37 seconds on my Pentium 60 based PC (In the background, I use OS/2). I know I'm stretching the limits of this months topic, but then again, when was the last time that you've been to the moon ;-) The file MOONRCKT.ZIP contains the MDL, POV and INC files. The heightfield and the imagemap of the earth were a bit too large to include. R. van Schinkel E-mail: schinke@nlr.nl Compuserve: 100446,1740
