DJS_180: (c) 1994 D J Stevenson (hoagy@cix.compulink.co.uk) ------------------------------------------------------------ A darts score of 180! All except the final rendering were done on an Atari Falcon030 computer. The last stage would have taken too long, so I did that on a Sun Sparcstation 2. The only post-POV processing was adding the copyright message, using GemView v3.08. Files uploaded are:- djs_180.txt - This file djs_180.jpg - Rendered at 640x480 djs_180.zip - Sources, GIFs etc, sufficient to rebuild the picture. The sources in djs_180.zip are:- board.inc - The darts board dart.inc - A single dart game.pov - The main POV source uj75.gif - 75dpi Union Flag for the dart flights. Drawn with DA's Vektor (Drawing program for Atari Falcon030). 1.gif 2.gif 0.gif 5.gif - Numbers for the dart board. I've only included those that are visible with the given camera position. Drawn using a font which I can't remember (probably Architekt) using Atari Works, saved by a screen shot, split into separate files and converted to GIF using GemView v3.08. All of the POV source was created manually; there are no modelling tools for the Atari as far as I am aware :-( (Although the forthcoming InShape TT looks promising). Problems with the picture: The main problem is that the dart flights look a bit odd (eg not at 90 degrees) because the camera is so close. If I pan out, they do look correct. Sometime I will sort this out, but not in time for the competition. The other problem is that some nice "crand" texturing of the board surface seems to have been lost by the conversion to JPG. I would have preferred that the rules allowed me to upload .GIF instead, as I can get better results for similar file sizes. Oh well. David Stevenson 29/12/94
