"USENET" A raytraced scene by Chris Herborth (cherborth@semprini.waterloo-rdp.on.ca) (c) 1995 When I read the subject for the March/95 comp.graphics.raytracing contest ("The Internet"), this image of USENET immediately sprung to mind. Simple, ironic, and to-the-point. I don't expect this to win, but it's fun. :-) The awesome flame texture was posted to the DKB-L (POV-Ray/DKB Trace mailing list); unfortunately, I forgot to save the message headers, so I don't know who to thank! Instead, I'll just thank everyone on the mailing list. Thanks everyone! The rest of the scene was modelled by hand in an hour or so. This only takes about 20 minutes or so to trace at 1024x768 on a '486dx2/66 running OS/2 (my system at work); it'd probably take a day on my Atari ST...
